The location of the hotel was great. Right by the train station so made it easy to take the train to our next destination. Hallways were being renovated but our rooms were recently done. Our rooms were spacious with king size beds and very comfortable. The free minibar was a nice perk at the end of the day. We were travelling with our 18 year old son and we’re able to upgrade to our own suite with 2 connecting rooms so we each had our own space! Marienplatz is an easy 15minute walk. Staff were very friendly.

We recently spent a very comfortable 4 weeks at this great little hotel. All staff are very accommodating, helpful and friendly. Very good breakfast buffet.. Great location though area did leave a little to be desired, this is certainly not a deterrent. 5 mins walk to all forms of excellent public transport. Walking distance to city town square approx 10 mins. Room quiet not withstanding building works in close proximity. Hotel is highly recommended. We would love to return.

Very good hotel, very clean, friendly staff, quiet (if you keep the windows closed, but it has air condition for hot days so no problem). The breakfast is rich and delicious. The beds are good and comfortable. The bathrooms are modern and clean. Fair prices for Munich. Next time I'm in Munich, I will definitely chose this hotel again.

I recently stayed at Schiller5 for seven nights. Manage your expectations, and stay is acceptable memorable (good or bad). Schiller5 seems on par with a 2.5-3 Star hotel. Pro’s Could not ask for a better location to transportation. From Munich Central station, Exit F, short, one block walk. Staff at check in was lovely with all interactions, and for non-German speakers, able to communicate well in English. Complimentary gummy candy on pillow at check in. Free WiFi, which functioned well throughout. Cons “Soundproof windows” advertised on the website are not, Rooms are not at all soundproof. Guests will hear everything in neighboring rooms and outside. Everything. There is construction immediately outside, and it is extraordinarily loud. My neighbor did not wake up to their alarms, but I did. Not a quiet or restful environment. Bathroom smells of mildew, with a bit of obvious mold in the shower grout. I think the odious smell results from the shower curtain being about half an inch too long. There is a strip of orange discoloration at the bottom (ew) and spots on the curtain from previous guests. Also, be aware, the curtain is lightweight, so it blows around while showering and will likely touch you (also ew). Washing between guests with a bit of bleach would go a long way. Use caution with the elevator…The doors open slightly before the lift has stopped moving (approximately 2.5-3 seconds). I nearly tripped myself multiple times because I am not used to having to watch for the floor to be level when the doors open. I sent an email a few weeks before my stay to ask a question, and still have not received a response. Neutral Rooms are a little small, but functional. Mostly clean, but beware of the kettle (visible build up / water deposits) and shower. Shower temp fluctuates wildly from freezing to scalding, and water pressure is not great, however, this seems fairly consistent with other experiences throughout Europe. If you decline housekeeping for the day, Schiller5 offers a “glass of housewine, beer or softdrink in the Schiller5 lounge” as a thank you. However, their website also states “FREE selection of drinks in the lounge”. Toilet splashes out of the bowl if you dare to flush with the lid open. Close the lid and it’s fine. Rituals brand combined shampoo / body wash pump (really hard to rinse hair, and nearly impossible to brush out afterward because no conditioner). Schiller5 also provides Rituals hand wash & lotion in community pumps. Individual use shower cap, nail file, sewing kit, shoe shine kit. Amenities are not replenished throughout the visit. If you use an item and will need it again later in your stay, hold onto it. Towels are small and are lower quality (on par with a bargain WalMart towel in the USA). Wash cloths are not provided. There is a cosmetic/shaving mirror in the bathroom, however, it is installed far enough back that it’s purpose is not served. Laundry & Dry Cleaning services are offered. As of April 2024, the charge for laundering a ladies blouse was €12.90, pajamas €11, jeans €13.20. Dry cleaning a suit €30.60, dress €20, coat €26.40. I believe this is outsourced, so the hotel may not have any control over the higher than average rates. Additionally, guests can use the laundry facilities onsite, however there is only one older tiny, tiny washing machine and one dryer. Charge for the tiny washer is €8.50 per load, for the dryer is €6.00. When I walked in there was a load that had just completed and that guest had a second load. I had two loads as well (because the washer is tiny!) and another guest walked in immediately behind me and decided to do his laundry the following day. One tiny machine might mean you have to wait to get your laundry in. The washer did work well and was well maintained. Outlets are not global / adaptable Complimentary mini bar is two bottles of water, and one bottle each orange “juice” that is not juice, cola, and beer. At “Max” temp, mini bar did not keep the beverage cold, only room temp. Complimentary tea and instant coffee. Breakfast was fine, middle of the line. Some items were fresh, some a bit past their prime. Not an extensive selection, but enough for most people to find options to their liking. Not a lot of variety from day to day. In room safe My reservation stated “Kitchenette with refrigerator, stovetop, cookware/dishwasher and coffee / teamaker. Of those items, my room only had a kettle for instant coffee or tea. I don’t count the minibar refrigerator because at the max setting it stayed at room temp all week. Website states “Most rooms are equipped with a kitchenette and microwave” but mine was not, unfortunately. To be fair, I could have gone back down to the front desk and raised a ruckus, but I didn’t mention it so the hotel did not have an opportunity to make it right. I don’t recommend selecting a room based on the “view”. Mine was a building across the street, with cranes and construction.

Great hotel, great room, decent breakfast, no building noise even though the hotel was surrounded by construction. I did find charging us 12 euros for 2 bottles of water more than excessive though. Lots of shops around so make sure you don’t put anything on your room via the hotel.
